ASDA teamed up with a popular panto company to help kick-start a fundraising campaign for Hebden Green School in Winsford.

Hebden Green School teaches children between 2-19 years with a range of physical disabilities, medical needs and associated learning difficulties.

King Rat, one of the star of the upcoming panto, Dick Whittington, played by Jonathan Blazer, joined pupils from the school along with Winsford Town Mayor Gina Lewis to help to kick-start funds for the raffle.

"There’s great prize for the festive season, something for all the family and you’ll be helping the local community at the same time," Asda Winsford store manager, Heather Wright, said.

Asda and Make Believe Entertainment donated a free family ticket to see Dick Whittington, at the Winsford Lifestyle centre, as well as mountain bike and £10 Asda gift card.

Mr Blazer, creative director of Make Believe Entertainment, said: “We’re delighted to fundraise with Asda Winsford for Hebden Green School, whose pupils attend our pantomime at the Winsford Lifestyle Centre every year.”

Caroline Cocklin Asda community life champion added: “We’re always looking to help vital components in our community. Please come and show your support to Hebden Green School.”

Tickets for the raffle are available from Asda Winsford up until December 17.
