A WINSFORD opticians is hosting a weekend of festive fun, frolics and fundraising in aid of global charity, Save the Children.

Staff at Specsavers in Winsford will be donning their woolly Christmas jumpers on Friday, December 12, and Saturday, December 13, and are inviting customers to visit the store and vote for their favourites.

All votes will be entered into a prize draw and the winner will receive an early Christmas present with a box of chocolates.

Visitors to the store, in Winsford Shopping Centre, can also enter the Snow Sweepstake, the game which requires participants to guess what jumper Channel Four’s Jon Snow is wearing.

Peter Adshead, store director at Specsavers in Winsford, said: “As many of our staff are parents, as well as many of our customers, we have a special place in our heart for Save the Children and the incredible work this charity does.

“Our weekend of festive fundraising will not only support the charity’s ‘Make the World Better with a Sweater’ campaign, it will also allow us to spread some cheer throughout the community in the busy Christmas countdown.

“We hope to see many of our customers, old and new, over the weekend, together raising vital funds for Save the Children.”
