A MAN has been charged in connection with a spate of burglaries in Winsford.

Officers from Winsford Neighbourhood Policing Team arrested Jamie Green, 21, after searching an address in Alt Walk, Winsford, during the early hours of Saturday, November 29.

During the search a large amount of property was discovered that was suspected to be stolen from a number of sheds and outdoor buildings in and around the Wharton area.

Some of the property recovered at the address was later identified by victims of the recent break-ins and subsequently Green was charged with four burglary offences.

Entry to the buildings in most cases is forced and power tools, electrical goods and other types of property were stolen.

Inspector David Snasdell, from Winsford’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Please consider how secure your outbuildings are and the value of property and other equipment being stored.

“Should you be offered any goods locally at vastly reduced prices be aware they may well be stolen.”

Green was also charged with a separate theft offence and for possession of cannabis.

He was granted police bail and is due to attend an initial court hearing at South Cheshire Magistrates Court on December 19.
