THE two Winsford men who were arrested for suspicion of supplying indecent images of children over the internet have been bailed.

The Winsford men, aged 40 and 46, were arrested along with 12 other men from around Cheshire, in an early morning bust on Wednesday, November 26.

As well as arresting the suspects, part of the operation also saw police seize computers and other devices which have internet access.

The 13 man have now all been released on bail while forensic teams and officers from the Paedophile and Cybercrime Investigation Team, continue to analyse the hardware which was seized.

Detective Superintendent Geraint Jones, said: "The arrests made in yesterday′s operation were a huge success and now the investigation continues as we analyse the computers and other hardware that were seized.

"Cases such as this are often complex and involve information which must be meticulously investigated. By having a dedicated Paedophile and Cybercrime Investigation Team who are fully committed to tackling this issue, we can ensure that Cheshire Police do everything possible to fully investigate such serious offences.

"Behind every indecent image is an abused child and sharing such images online is illegal and results in further abuse.

"The operation has used the most up-to-date technology and intelligence to identify suspects, and this technology will continue to be used throughout the course of the investigations."
