A WINSFORD lout has been slapped with a five-year ASBO for subjecting his neighbours towards a tirade of drunken abuse.

Joshua Furmedge, 21, of Alundale Road, was handed the ASBO at Crewe Magistrates Court on Tuesday, November 11.

Magistrates heard that on numerous occasions Furmedge acted drunk and aggressive in public and was verbally abusive towards his neighbours.

Sgt Fez Khan of Winsford Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "Officers here at Winsford Neighbourhood Policing Team hope that in successfully obtaining a five-year ASBO against this troublesome individual, it sends out a strong message to those who are intent on causing nuisance and adversely affecting the quality of life of other law abiding residents of Winsford.

"We will take robust action against anyone who thinks that they are beyond sanction by behaving in the manner in which Joshua Furmedge has done, much to the detriment of the local community.”

Under the terms of the ASBO, Furmedge is barred from entering any pubs, including beer gardens and outdoor areas attached to them, within the Winsford Neighbourhood Policing Unit area.

He is also banned from associating with Shane Boyle, Simon Hill, or Anthony Crellin within the same area.

Sgt Khan: "This latest initiative represents an excellent example of multi-agency co-operation between the police and our local partners in order to tackle anti-social behaviour in Winsford, something which remains one of our top priorities."
