A BRAVE doctor is planning to walk across fire to raise funds for St Luke’s Hospice in Winsford.
Dr Kate Smith has been with St Luke’s for 26 years, and on November 22 she will literally bare her soles for her patients by braving the Firewalk in Crewe.
Two years ago Dr Smith took on our Midnight Walk, and said he is looking forward to her latest challenge with ‘trepidation and excitement’.
She said: “I decided to do the Firewalk because I wanted to do something for the hospice. The idea of this Firewalk caught my imagination and so I signed up for it.
“I am now looking forward to November 22 with a mixture of trepidation and excitement.
“I feel it is quite a challenge for me personally, but compared to the challenges faced by our patients on a daily basis, it is not so significant.
“If anyone would like to support me, there is a sponsor form available in reception at St Luke’s Hospice, or the JustGiving link below.”
