TODDLERS have been jumping for joy at a Winsford nursery following the completion of a brand new outdoor play area.

Sunrise Nursery in Winsford has given their outdoor area a complete makeover, replacing all of the equipment that has resided there since it opened in 2005.

Kids at the nursery will now be able to play on a brand new tyre park, bike track and a host of other new additions.

Sunrise Nursery manager Natalie Moore-Copnell, 31, from Winsford, said: “They really love it, and it’s not just the children neither – all of the staff love it as well.

“They’re learning lots of skills too. It’s a good learning experience for them.”

Budding musicians within the group will even be able to jam to some tunes with the outdoor xylophone.

Toddler room supervisor Jess Dayres, 23, from Weaverham, said: “We’ve got the outdoor xylophone for the children to be creative. They’ve been playing loads of music and I’ve been joining them.

“We sing nursery rhymes while we play. Some of the kids play king of the castle too.

“They absolutely love it.”

Natalie, who has worked at the nursery since day one, had a large part to play in getting the new makeover.

She decided it was about time outdoor area was given a facelift, and helped develop the plans with their construction partner.

“We’ve been here nine years, and it will be ten years next year so we thought it was time for a revamp really,” Natalie said.

“I’ve been here since the nursery opened, so I know it was long overdue.

“So I contacted a few companies to get quotes, and because we’re a community enterprise we had to pay for it ourselves.”

Natalie is delighted with the end result, and says the kids have been keen to take advantage of the new play area.

“They’ve all really taken to it and seem to love it," Natalie said. "Thankfully there aren’t any accidents to report.”
