THE three residents groups leading the No campaign are hoping that the electorate will vote against adopting the Winsford Neighbourhood Plan.

Speaking on behalf of the three groups, Winsford resident Simon Boone said the concerns in the ‘No’ leaflets were well founded and that the messages contained therein had been written following advice from ‘legal and planning advisors’.

Mr Boone said Winsford Town Council were still to answer ‘important questions’ on the Neighbourhood Plan.

“Almost 18 months on, the council have not answered very simple questions that have been posed to them,” he said.

“What are they hiding and why aren’t they answering questions?

“It took two years to get to this point and I think it’s dawned on them that they don’t know any of the answers.

“The three ‘No’ campaigns want a Neighbourhood Plan; just not this Neighbourhood Plan.

“A ‘No’ vote is a vote for better Neighbourhood Plan.”

The Neighbourhood Plan referendum will be held on Thursday, October 23.

Votes will be counted following the close of polling stations, with the result know later on Thursday evening.

The Neighbourhood Plan outlines where at least 3,500 new houses will be built in Winsford before 2030, as well as allocating sites for 35 hectares of employment land.
