WINSFORD Town Council have asked the borough authority to ensure that a developer adheres to landscaping agreements regarding more than a hundred new homes in town.
Cheshire West and Chester Council have granted Taylor Wimpey outline planning permission to create 180 new houses on land off Chester Road.
Under the planning consent, various stipulations regarding predestrian and cycle access were placed upon the developer as part of a section 106 agreement.
Writing to CWAC, Winsford Town Council said: “Members would like to query the original consideration of the pedestrian crossing as part of the section 106 agreement on to Chester Road Will this be completed?
“Can the planning officers please ensure that the hedging and tree line to Oakmere Road is protected.
“There is a very mature tree and hedge line which borders the A54 which would be a great loss if uprooted.
“At various consultations the developer had expressed the intention to retain the hedges.”
The development comprises two to four bedroom homes, including 54 affordable dwellings.
Taylor Wimpey purchased the site from Hallam Land, following a successful outline planning application in 2012, which was fiercely opposed by local residents.
