WINSFORD’S schools wowed RHS judges at the Tatton Show this week.

Inspired by pupil's favourite book or story, the School Gardens exhibit, in association with the Winsford Education Partnership, transported audiences back in time at the show, which took place from Wednesday, July 23 to Sunday, July 27.

But it was a Winsford school that scooped the top prize.

The highest level of Distinction and Best High School Garden was awarded to Winsford E-ACT Academy for their depiction of C.S Lewis’ classic The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.

But it wasn’t just the town’s older children who impressed the RHS judges.

In the primary school catergory, five of the town’s schools picked up prizes.

St Joseph's Catholic Primary School's classic display of Charlotte’s Web was highly commended.

Winsford High Street Primary School with its display of How to Live Forever was commeneded as was Grange Community Primary School with its Where My Wellies Take Me while Over Hall Community School’s impressive Lewis Carroll staple Alice in Wonderland was the third school in the town to be commended.

Oakview Academy was also commended by the judges for its 'Flat Stanley' garden.
