WINSFORD’S MP has welcomed new figures that indicate fewer people are relying on Jobseeker’s Allowance in Eddisbury.
The number of people on unemployment benefits is down by 732 – a 53 per cent drop on 2010 figures.
The Office for National Statistics figures, released on July 16, also showed that the number of people in work in the north west has risen up 87,000 since 2010.
MP Stephen O’Brien said: “It’s excellent news that since 2010 there are 732 fewer people in Eddisbury relying on Jobseeker’s Allowance. That means more people with the prospect of a better and brighter future ahead of them.”
