WINSFORD Town Council has expressed its ‘disappointment’ that Asda has to seek retrospective planning permission for an addition to their store.
The supermarket added a ‘seasonal canopy’ to the side of its Winsford shop, but will now have to gain planning permission for the development to remain.
In a response to Cheshire West and Chester Council, who will consider granting permission for the canopy to remain, a town council spokesman said: “The town council is disappointed that a company of the standing of Asda did not seek advice beforehand whether or not planning consent would be required for this development.
“The council also considers the construction of the canopy has resulted in restricted access between the canopy and the car park.”
