A WINSFORD man has pleaded guilty to benefit fraud amounting to £7,868.
John Derek Phillips of Wharton Gardens admitted to claiming benefits even though he had secured a job.
At South Cheshire Magistrates Court he pleaded guilty to two charges of dishonestly failing to promptly notify changes in his circumstances that he knew would affect his entitlement to Jobseeker’s Allowance, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit.
The 44-year-old was ordered to undertake one hundred hours unpaid work, to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £85 to the Department of Work and Pensions.
