BONFIRE night will go with a bang this weekend in Winsford, as the team behind the Olympic Games' fireworks displays brings their explosive expertise to The Barton Stadium.

The Rotary Club of Winsford and Middlewich have arranged for Kimbolton Fireworks Ltd to co-ordinate this year’s family-focused festivities.

Kimbolton, one of Europe’s leading professional display companies, were responsible for the incredible incendiaries that lit up London 2012’s Olympic and Paralympic opening and closing ceremonies.

Rotarian, Ron Attley, said: “For little more than the price of one firework, a family of four can enjoy a major firework display in safety, knowing that they are also supporting many local charities and good causes.”

The event takes place at Barton Stadium, Winsford United’s football ground in Wharton, on Saturday, November 3.

Gates open at 6.00pm, the bonfire will be lit at 6.45 pm and the firework display will start at 7.15 pm with all proceeds going to local charities and voluntary organisations.

Stalls selling burgers and other snacks, and a stall selling novelty items, will also be available.

Support and sponsorship has been provided by local business and Winsford councillors serving on Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Admission is £6 for adults and £3 for children.

In the interests of safety no personal fireworks, sparklers or alcohol will be permitted into the public display area.
