MARK Loveless admits he is made up' with Joe Gibiliru's debut season on Blues' bench.

The Winsford United chairman told the Guardian he would be happy with a top ten finish to add to the Mid-Cheshire FA Senior Cup already in the trophy cabinet.

"I'm delighted with how our season has gone," he said.

"With everything that went on last summer I was preparing myself for a relegation battle and I was worried that we would drop straight back to where we came from."

His fears have proved unfounded as Gibiliru has moulded a team capable of competing with the best the Vodkat North West Counties League has to offer.

Loveless believes a tweak here and there could turn Blues into title contenders.

"Joe knows he needs to bring one or two players in," he said.

"To make that step up you need a little bit of extra quality that we lack right now.

"I've already had a chat with him and we'll sit down properly after the final game to talk about transfers and budgets."

Winsford are finishing the season in style after thrashing Abbey Hey 4-0 at Barton Stadium on Saturday - their second successive win and clean sheet.

"It would be nice to finish on a winning note," added Loveless.

"But whatever happens it's been a cracking season."
