HAVING read with horror the story about Julie Pickford, when are politicians going to wake up to what is going on in the real world?

I have travelled many times on the tram, sometimes late at night, as they are very convenient and my husband and I can then leave our car at Altrincham thus avoiding the drive into the city centre. Only once have I ever seen a police presence, and that was on a Saturday afternoon.

So where are the 50 inspectors Mr Renshaw has spoken about?

The laws of this land need changing and soon. The punishment for such violent behaviour needs to be made more severe before more people are seriously hurt or killed by these cowardly gangs of youths. Or is it politically incorrect to even refer to them as gangs now?
